Masch Atelier is owned and founded by Madri Botha (Scherman). Madri started her business while studying at Stellenbosch University. By combining natural practicality and passion , she started crafting leather handbags and clothing out of her dorm room in Irene residence. Her products soon became popular within the halls of Irene, and soon word of her products spread across Stellenbosch. This prompted her to turn her to focus on turning her passion into her profession.

Over the years the brand grew into a beloved Stellenbosch staple, and expanded to include a clothing line and leather accessories for any occasion.

The Masch philosophy celebrates quality over quantity, with most pieces being one-per-size in a selection of hand-picked fabrics.
